Rescuing data from hard drives yesterday and today

Computer hard drives are much more durable today than they were just 10 years ago. 10 years ago the control board on an average size computer internal hard drive was almost guaranteed to physically fail within the first five years of its use. This was due to improper cooling. Another problem with older computer hard drives was that the motors used had to turn a relatively heavy hard disk platter. It seems as if either the control board would overheat, the motor word burn out, or the high speed spinning platter would slip out of balance. These situations meant that your computer hard drive needed be shipped to a data recovery service laboratory so that they could rescue from it any stored files.

Today’s new tough computer hard drives seem capable of lasting for 10 years without any physical mishaps. We do however have situations where the software used to operate these drives is easily corrupted. Lately the major cause for this seems to be computer viruses. Whatever the cause, the resultant need is for data recovery. To recover data from a modern computer hard drive that has crashed merely requires that we use a program designed expressly for that purpose. These programs quickly scan through even the largest computer hard drives and return from a scan a complete list of all existing and deleted files on said hard drive.
