A better grade partition recovery software utility must have two very important features. One is the ability to quickly scan large volumes of digital information. This feature is determined by the specific memory access algorithm used. The second important feature a deleted partition recovery program must possess is the ability to skip over bad sectors of a computer’s hard drive when they are encountered.
Surprisingly many data recovery programs do not have this ability and as a result of this simply stall or freeze if you will upon reaching a bad sector. It is bad enough when a data recovery program moves so slowly as to require hour upon hour to complete a scan of a modern 500 GB plus sized hard drive. When you believe that the file recovery tool is hard at work, and later discover it has been stalled for hours by a single bad sector you may be forced to acknowledge that the program you purchased is either obsolete or invalid to begin with.
